Transform Your Life with God's Symphony

Welcome to God's Symphony!

God’s Symphony is a Ministry of Healing for those who have been Sexually Abused

Understanding and believing that God has a purpose for everything that happens in our lives, helps us to make sense of life itself. The pain that we experience, the uncertainty of what will happen next, are all a part of the life experience – the lessons in life.  If we take a step back and look at our lives from the 30,000-foot level, we will find that all of the experiences are flowing together to help shape us into the people we are today.  Do you see the structure of something taking shape?  Do you see the outlines of your life?  This structure, this outline, are the basis for your symphony – the music your life makes.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28 NIV

We believe that it is Romans 8:28 that helps to make harmonious sounds out of life’s experiences.  Join God’s Symphony to begin your journey in learning the song that is YOU…your life is God’s Symphony!

The Drive Behind God's Symphony

Why don’t women seek help?

Who is your target audience and how do you plan to reach them?

What about your life, inspired you to start Gods Symphony?

  • Fear of not being believed (lying or making it up).
  • Fear of being blamed for what happened (dressed inappropriately, behavior caused it to happen).
  • Afraid of being judged for how they dealt with their pain (cutting, substances, promiscuous behavior, etc.)
  • It hurts too much to relive the experience.
  • They don’t want to become stigmatized, marked as a victim.
  • Some don’t know where to go to get help.

What about your life, inspired you to start Gods Symphony?

  •  One of the devotionals I read each day was dealing with the experience of suffering. There’s a line in the devotional that states “Painful experiences often lead to powerful passion” My passion is to help women who were sexual abused during their childhood or adolescence live the life that God desires for them.
  • I am coming at this work from a very personal perspective. Between the ages of 13-18 I was sexually abused by a close family member. I understand and know the work that is needed to heal, to love yourself, to forgive yourself and others, to grow from victim to victor, to shed the shame and feelings of unworthiness, to be able to be in a relationship and enjoy it, celebrate it, and thrive in it. I started receiving counseling at age 19, after I finally told my mom what had been happening to me. Although I didn’t remain with the initial group because I was not where they were, I did realize and appreciate that although my experience was something I would not wish on my worst enemy, I was better off than some. I had God. I had a supportive family who BELIEVED me (that’s crucial). Most of all, I had God!
  • Listen to this - “You die inside…abused children never really recover to become fully functioning…It’s like you’re dirty and not worthy of love and respect…” This is a portion of a statement made on an episode of a UK drama called Judge John Deed. When I heard this statement, I was like my God that is exactly how you feel…and then I thought BUT GOD! (this was a favorite saying of Bishop Gregory Dixon and it sums things up perfectly!) It is because of God and the healing He provides for His children that the statement does not have to remain our life’s statement. Because of God, we can be healed!

  • Target audience are adult women. The method of engagement for God’s Symphony is an online support group that seeks to support women along their journey to healing. The ministry is all about Romans 8:28 “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” NLT.
  • The concept of God being at work in and through the experiences of our lives (even the bad experiences) and making something good from it is likened to the structure and form of a symphony. We use biblical and theoretical tools to aid the women. Although the end goal is helping the women live lives of fulfillment, we also desire to help women grow closer to God.

Where do you see God’s Symphony going?

Where do you see God’s Symphony going?

Who is your target audience and how do you plan to reach them?

  • I see God’s Symphony becoming a significant aid to women everywhere. There are two segments:

  1. One segment is an online support group. This work is not limited to a particular location.
  2. The second segment is working with women are incarcerated.

  • Our desire is to meet women wherever they are!

Why now?

Where do you see God’s Symphony going?

Why now?

  •  One Sunday in mid 2019 First Lady Leah Conedy from First Church of God Las Vegas prayed with me and then spoke a prophetic word over my life. Although clueless as to how the words spoken would become a reality, I trusted that if God said it, He’d do it. It was months after Lady Leah’s word and time seeking what God wanted me to do that it dawned on me WHAT I was to do.
  • You see many years ago I started writing a book entitled “God’s Symphony: The Orchestration of our Lives” and had made it all the way through chapter 3 then stopped. Normally the writing bug would hit and then I’d resume writing. But that didn’t happen. I was casually re-reading what I had previously written when I realized that God’ Symphony wasn’t a book, but a ministry to help other women who have suffered sexual abuse. The unfinished book became a website and the basis for support group content; the unfinished story becomes the participants’ story; and our song becomes God’s masterpiece!
  • You see, when I said that concept of how God fulfills Romans 8:28 in our lives be likened to a symphony, it is because the “book” I was writing gives a bit of a Music 101 lesson on the symphonic form. As a classical music lover, Romans 8:28 brought to mind the picture of a conductor (God) conducting a symphony. The song that we hear was just made up instantaneously, it took a lot of time to create the score and for each section of the orchestra to learn their part. Sometimes when you hear just a section, lets say the violas or the string section playing their portion, the piece sounds incomplete. But when the conductor brings in the woodwinds, brass, and percussion, the piece sounds complete. That’s how I see Romans 8:28 in our lives – God weaves ALL of the pieces of our lives into His glorious symphony…a song that it pleasing to His ear!

Our Goal

Where do you see God’s Symphony going?

Why now?

  • Our primary goal is to reach the women God has purposed to be a part of the ministry. I see it as each one reach one... we all encounter women who have had this type of experience in their lives. When these encounters happen, I anticipate that God’s Symphony will be shared, and it will grow.
  • Statistics report that every fourth woman you see may have experienced sexual abuse as a child. Further, one in every five women suffered childhood sexual abuse by a family member. Not every case is a drastic one, but even one experience of abuse changes you. So I do believe that God’s Symphony is definitely something that will grow. Since this is an online support ministry, I’d like to see destination meetings one day where participants are able to come together in fellowship and work face to face. Whatever God calls me to do, I’ve said “Yes!”
